Research will be conducted in the Molecular Physiology Section, headed by Professor Daniel Markovich, which has major research interests in the role of transporters in health and disease. Two projects are available to study: (1) The role of polymorphisms in human sulfate transporters, that are linked to kidney and neurological diseases. (2) To study second messenger regulation of sulfate transporters, as ways of controlling human renal and neurological diseases.
